THE UNIVERSITY HISTORY

CEU Cardenal Herrera University is one of the three universities belonging to the San Pablo CEU Foundation, together with the Universitat Abat Oliba CEU and the Universidad San Pablo CEU. Although it was recognized by law as a private university (the first in the Valencian Community) in 1999, it had already taught as a center attached to the University of Valencia since the early 1970s.

Promoted by the Catholic Association of Propagandists, the university is guided by the principles of Christian Humanism and the social doctrine of the Church, which is why it understands the formation of its students as an integral whole, which is why students' abilities are worked on from the intellectual, human and social point of view.

Quality and excellence are two of the fundamental premises of the Cardenal Herrera project. To maintain both, there is a regime of permanence for students, who also face a participative and demanding methodology, in which importance is given to the daily effort and the preparation of research works.

The facilities are structured around several centers, which belong to the Faculty of Experimental Sciences and Health, the Faculty of Social and Legal Sciences, the Higher School of Technical Education and the CEU Institute of Humanities Angel Ayala, where the most of the teachings. The centers are distributed between the campuses of Castellón, València (Valéncia) and Elche (Alicante).
